What to Bring

To ensure a comfortable and productive course for yourself and your fellow students please see the items listed below.

BEDDING

A pillowcase, a duvet cover and a sheet are available at the centre.
Duvets and blankets are also available at the centre. Bring your own pillow and due to humidity in Taiwan, you may bring a sleeping bag if necessary.

TOILETRIES

Please bring a towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, unscented deodorant, shampoo, shaving kit, sanitary supplies.

Please don’t bring perfumes, aftershaves, scented creams, scented powders or any other products that smell strongly.

CLOTHING

Please bring enough warm and comfortable clothing for the duration of your stay.

Note that only basic hand-washing facilities are available at the centre. Washing powder and clothes line are provided.

Modest clothes are required. As described in the Code of Discipline, tight, transparent, revealing and conspicuous clothing are proscribed. This includes shorts, short skirts, tights, stockings and sleeveless shirts. Trousers and skirts should be calf-length or lower when sitting.

FOR MEDITATION

Meditation cushions and shawls are available at the centre. You may bring your own if you prefer to use them.

OTHER ITEMS 

Please bring a water bottle or cup, personal tableware and scouring pad (for washing dishes).

Please don’t bring
personal food;
books, stationery, mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, MP3 players, radio, recorder;
tobacco, alcohol, sleeping pills, tranquilizers, or any other sedative or illegal drugs;
religious items like amulets, crystal, rosary beads, etc;
clothing or items made of animal fur or skin;
jewelry and valuables;
(will be kept by the centre during your stay) 

Please Note

Property is kept at the centre at your own risk. The centre is not liable for any loss or damage to property howsoever caused. Please bring items appropriate for the season. A waterproof coat is always advisable.
